I've spent fifteen years making music: playing it, writing it, recording it, and for the last five, producing records with other artists. I'm based in Leeds and work with artists across the UK, the US and Latin America.
My work has been played on BBC Radio and licensed for TV, and most of the artists I work with come back for EPs and albums.
Before producing took over I was on the other side of the glass, gigging all over the underground scene from venues like Temple of Boom and the Wardrobe in Leeds to Fibbers and the Crescent in York, fronting bands and backing other people's shows.
At a gig, a big kick drum and a passionate performance move the room. Capturing that feeling and getting it across on a record is a different job entirely, but when you nail it, people respond to the record the way they do to a great live show. That's most of why I can hear quickly what a record needs, and why I care as much about a performance as a plugin.
I work across pop, R&B and alternative, with plenty of Latin, Afrobeat, funk and disco in the mix. I play and program much of what you hear, so ideas move fast and arrangements stay specific to the song.
