Case study
Leeds Male Voice Choir
Sixty singers, recorded on location in a church, then edited and mixed back at the studio.

Getting it right at source means the take carries the record, rather than needing patched up later. Vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, drums, percussion and full ensembles. I engineer the session, shape the sound as we go, and keep things moving.
Relaxed, but the standard is high. People perform better when they're comfortable, and that's usually where the moment you actually want comes from.
Artists come to the studio in Leeds for vocal sessions, and to track drums, guitars, bass, sax and synths, either for a single day or across a few sessions as the record comes together.

Working out parts

Jazz bands in halls, rock bands in basements, pop acts in expensive studios, live bands at concerts, and a sixty-piece choir in a church.
A choir blends in the air between the singers and the space, not at the desk afterwards. Working with an organisation rather than one artist changes things too: schedules and turnaround matter more, and more people are relying on the result.
If the space matters to the record, we go to the space.

Thank you so much for all your work, care and the speed of turnaround. So pleased with these, and really hope to work with you again in the future.
